Christiandumb Thinking

We live in what many call the Post-Christiandom era. Other would say it's more like a ChristianDUMN era wherein we're holding on to things we know aren't true and don't work. But, since we've been trained in schooled in such ways, we simply don't want to admit that we have been mistaken and need to move on. We have GOOD NEWS to share and it long over due that we share it.

We have become so indoctrinated to what I call "ChristianDUMB" thinking (thanks for the term Leonard Sweet) that we can't SEE or HEAR what others have been and ARE saying. Let me give you a couple of examples for the past and present.

>"Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man." Thomas Jefferson
>Lighthouses are more useful than churches. " Benjamin Franklin
>"For good people to do evil things, it takes religion." Stephen Weinberg
>"I used to be a Christian but after a lifetime of listening to Christians cutting this person down, and hating that kind of a person, I became an atheist. I became an atheist because of Christians". Radio interview caller.

It's not just Christianity, but all "fundamentalist" branches of any religion. As one has said, " Both the Koran and the Bible are seen as the deadliest texts on the planet." Why is that? One explanation is because Christians (taught by their priests, pastors, and ministers) have been taught that all of those KILLINGS in the Old Testament particularly are LITERAL TRUTHS! It's not just a fascination and adoption of Bibliolatry paradigm, many think that Scofields notes are just as inspired as the Bible. And that Strong's Concordance is just as inspired as the Bible.

Deliver us from ChristianDUMB thinking!

The best days lay ahead if we will be led by the Spirit, walk in unconditional love, not teach our children to fear God, and ditch the dualities of heaven and hell. I could add a lot more, but I think you've got enough to get the point(s).
